Position Overview:
MP Design Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Program Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex architectural and engineering projects from early planning through construction.
This role is ideal for a seasoned project leader with 10+ years of experience on either the design (A/E) or construction (CM/GC) side who understands both how projects are developed and how they are executed in the field.
The ideal candidate brings a practical, solutions-oriented mindset and can confidently lead projects, teams, and clients through all phases of delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead projects through all phases including planning, design, and construction

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and trust

Develop and manage project design schedules, milestones, and deliverables

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architecture, civil, structural, and MEP engineering
-
Monitor project budgets, scope, and fee performance to ensure alignment with contracts and profitability goals

Lead internal coordination meetings and external client/stakeholder meetings
-
Oversee quality control of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
-
Manage permitting, regulatory coordination, and agency approvals
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience on the design side of architectural or engineering projects

Strong understanding of the design and construction process
-
Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams
-
Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
-
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
-
Working knowledge of common design and project management software
-
Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field coordination
-
Lead the development and coordination of front-end specifications (Divisions 00 & 01), ensuring alignment with project scope, contractual requirements, and overall delivery strategy

Identify and proactively manage project risks, scope changes, and schedule impacts
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)

10+ years of project management experience on either the A/E or CM/GC side, or a combination of both
-
Demonstrated experience delivering projects through design and/or construction phases
-
Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary teams and projects
-
Strong track record managing budgets, schedules, and project risk
-
Experience serving as a primary point of contact for clients or stakeholders
-
Ability to lead meetings, make decisions, and drive results with minimal oversight
-
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working across both A/E and CM/GC environments
-
Strong understanding of constructability and coordination between design and field execution
-
Construction administration experience (RFIs, submittals, change orders, field coordination)
-
Familiarity with permitting and regulatory processes
-
Professional certifications such as PMP or CCM; PE or AIA is a plus
